Although endrocrinology is often studied a seperate discipline, it is in fact part of a larger meta-system call the Psycho-Neuro-Immuno-Endocrine system. The PNIE system is a communication system designed in evolution to keep all aspects of the self inter-regulated. The endocrine component works effectively to maintain Homeodynamics, which were established by physiologist Claude Bernard in Paris in the 1850s.
