This is a one hour class on the assessment, advice, and treatment on the subject of pediatric fevers. Acupuncture, clothing, food, the element of water, bowels, and seizures will be discussed under this topic. Both American and TCM herbal formulas will be covered. Participants will also learn how to empower parents in knowing when and how to treat fevers that do not need allopathic drugs and medical procedures.
Raven Lang was a direct-entry midwife from 1969 through 1985. During those years she founded the first Birth Center in North America and then helped to found the second one in Vancouver, B.C. In 1978 she founded The Institute of Feminine Arts, the first non-medical midwifery school in North America. For three years during Raven's TCM studies she had an apprenticeship under Dr. Miriam Lee, a nurse midwife from China and one of the first people in the U.S. to get her acupuncture license. Raven began her practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbalism in 1984 and has been practicing TCM since then. Her specialties have been women's health and pediatrics. She is the author of Birth Book, Blessing Way into Birth, and Mother Roasting. Raven presently practices in Santa Cruz, California.
