Even though Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common cause of infertility, the women affected with it tend to range widely in their presentation of it. Some have irregular or absent menstruations, some have acne and/ or excessive hair growth, and some will have visibly cystic ovaries upon ultra sound examination. Some may be overweight, while others are not. All women tend to manifest their own unique “version” of PCOS, and hence why having a customized treatment makes sense.
Please join Dr. Trevor Erikson, Dr.TCM, FABORM of Acubalance Wellness Centre as he uses research and his own clinical experience to show how customized treatments, based on the individual and not just the PCOS diagnosis, can not only reduce many of the above symptoms, but also significantly improve a woman’s ability to conceive naturally.
Dr. Trevor Erikson, Dr.TCM, FABORM, Dip. of Chinese Medical Dermatology has been focusing on all things related to both reproductive health and dermatology since he started his post graduate pursuits in 2005. Although ones skin and reproductive organs may appear to be separate systems, through Trevor's deep studies and clinical experience in Chinese Medicine he has found unique ways to use the skin as a diagnostic tool to better understand the inner workings of his clients. So for Trevor, premenstrual acne and infertility may most certainly be related!
After finishing his initial five year schooling through the International College of Traditional Chinese medicine in Vancouver, B.C and, as well, Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbal medicine in Victoria, B.C, Trevor went on to study at the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Chengsha, China. In 2007, Trevor spent many hours flying to and from London, England, to finish (at the Top of his class) an intensive Chinese Medical Dermatology Diploma with Dr. Mazin Al Khafaji, considered by many to be one of Europe's most respected Dermatologists. Trevor also had the opportunity to train with Jane Lyttleton, world renowned expert in treating infertility with Chinese medicine, and Robert Flaws, author of numerous texts on Chinese Medical Gynecology and Fertility. Trevor also successfully challenged the exam process to become, one of seven Canadians, a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Medicine.
Seeing clients for either their reproductive challenges, skin disorders, or a combination of the two, Trevor keeps a busy practice at Acubalance Wellness Centre- working out of both the Langley and Vancouver locations. He has particular interest in the treatment of endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, and acne.
