Post Partum Depression

Treatment suggestions and available resources to prevent and treat post partum depression. Post Partum Depression: “This isn’t how I thought motherhood would be”. Sleeplessness, frequent tearfulness, feelings of anger and/or increased feelings of anxiety and agitation, racing or intrusive thoughts are all symptoms of postpartum depression (PPD). It is estimated that 10-15% of women experience PPD within one year of either giving birth or adopting a child. This webinar details the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of PPD, what treatments and resources are available, and how PPD affects all family members, especially when left untreated. Additional information will be given about depression during pregnancy (perinatal depression) while offering strategies to prevent or reduce the onset of PPD before giving birth.
